Bardi Bowl Chair Collection

Lina Bo Bardi, 1951 | 2014

OVERVIEW

Designed in 1951 by Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi, the Bardi Bowl Chair is a semi-spherical seat resting lightly on a metallic ring structure, supported by four legs. Handcrafted by way of standardized and artisanal methods, the Bardi Bowl Chair features a flexible fiberglass and polyurethane shell. The seat is offered in an all black leather edition, commemorative of the original prototype, as well as a fabric version available in seven different colored textiles. Both versions come with gently rounded seat cushions. Upholstery for the cushions are offered in the same color of the shell, in two different color shades, or decorated with patterns based on original sketches by Lina Bo Bardi.

The Bardi Bowl Collection is a limited and numbered edition of 500. Proceeds from each sale will finance the world tour of the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi: Together – a curated show recreating Lina’s spirit and philosophy through popular influences and suggestions - while a portion of the profits will be reinvested in social and cultural programs of the Instituto Lina Bo and PM Bardi.
