Plank Coffee Table

Craig Bassam and Scott Fellows, 2004

OVERVIEW

Designed as a companion to the Circular Table series, the rectangular plank tables aim to minimize the essentials of a table to its simplest components. The tabletop is beautifully crafted of solid wood planks. Extreme lightness is acheived by reducing the legs to three simple supports constructed of rectangular sections of solid brass. By linking the supports with a triangular frame for rigidity, the tabletop cantilevers freely create the illusion of a floating surface.
