The world's first "build-it-yourself" piece of furniture, the Safari Chair ships fully assembled, but can can be assembled and dissembled without using any tools. Inspired by a British officer's chair Kaare Klint had seen in a travel guide for Africa, the first models of the Safari Chair were purchased by colleagues of the designer, such as Arne Jacobsen, who saw clear possibilities in its simple functional style. It is a classic example of authentic campaign furniture.
