M Table

Angelo Mangiarotti, 1969

OVERVIEW

The M Table is an all-marble table with a lathe-turned central stand with a hyperboloid section which is wider at the base and narrower towards the top.  This streamlines the entire structure to open up and accommodate the circular table top which simply rests in place by gravity alone.  The M Table is the first example in Angelo Mangiarotti's use of marble to construct objects designed as furnishings for the home.
