Dotâ„¢

Arne Jacobsen, 1970

OVERVIEW

The Dot™ stool was developed by Fritz Hansen in the 1950's around the same time Arne Jacobsen created the Ant™Chair and was recently reintroduced as a part of the Fritz Hansen Accessories line. While designing the Ant, Arne Jacobsen spent much of his time at the Fritz Hansen factory testing and refining his product. During this process, the Dot caught his interest and he included it in his body of work. The result of the collaboration was presented to the market in 1954 as a three-legged stool in veneer. In 1970, the stools were relaunched in the form we know today, on four legs.
