The Wishbone Chair is perhaps Hans J. Wegner's most celebrated work. A light, attractive and comfortable dining chair with the characteristic Y-shaped back. The chair is a triumph of craftsmanship with a simple design and clean lines. Despite the chair's straightforward appearance it takes more than 100 steps to make one. The hand-woven seat consists of more than 120 meters of paper cord. Hans J. Wegner designed the Wishbone chair for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949 and it has been in continuous production since 1950.

- The papercord comes from sustainable Swedish forests and is treated with a light wax coating prior to weaving in order to make it more resistant to discoloration and grease.

- 12031 Oak/Oil, natural papercord seat: With the oil finish a luster is visible that bring out the natural contrasts in grain and structure found in the wood. The finish will reach a darker, rich patina over time.
- 12032 Oak/Soap, natural papercord seat. With the soap finish flakes made from 100% vegetable-oil based soap are mixed with water and rubbed into the wood then wiped clean. The closest finish to raw wood, the natural grain and structure are visible with a light colored luster.
- 12033 Oak/White Oil, natural papercord seat. With the white-pigmented oil finish the natural grain and structure of the wood is visible. The finish lightens the wood and brings out contrasts in grain and structure. This finish will not darken over time.
- 12034 Oak/Black Lacquer finish, natural papercord seat. With the lacquer finish the structure is visible but grain and other contrasts are covered.
