Low Table

Bodil Kjær, 1959

OVERVIEW

Bodil Kjaer's iconic upholstered series produced a variety of career-defining designs, including a Sofa, Lounge Chair, Bench, and Low Table designed for use in public spaces of contemporary architecture. The Low Table exudes a classic, midcentury elegance through its rich rosewood veneer top and unique polished metal vaulted legs which creates a floating effect, a common thread throughout Bodil Kjær's work. The head of the Yale School of Architecture and Marcel Breuer were some of the first architects to specify these pieces for buildings they were designing.
