Notre Dame

Laura Straßer, 2010

OVERVIEW

The Notre Dame light originates from an art project where designer Laura Straßer explored a Chinese porcelain crafting tradition. Here, each lampshade is a cast from the previous larger shade, which then itself becomes the model for the next smaller shade. Her project was titled ‘14%’, as this was the average shrinkage from cast to cast. The result is a series of beautifully simple, minimalist suspension lamps that are available in a range of sizes and are versatile enough to work well in a variety of different interiors.
