Belgian-born architect and product designer Vincent Van Duysen exploded onto the global design scene when he founded his eponymous architecture firm at the tender age of 28. Van Duysen has since won countless industry awards including Designer of the Year at Paris’s Maison & Objet Fair 2009.  Van Duysen is the subject of three monographs, most recently a 2013 retrospective by A.MAG.  SUITE NY is proud to carry several Van Duysen designs, including his Totem bookshelves, Pottery and the Shadow table.  Each is imbued with the character and quality we expect from this world-renowned creative mind.  Daring, funny and vivacious, Van Duysen is one of our favorite friends of the art and design world.

I would describe my design process as…

intuitive.

If I wasn’t an architect, I’d probably be…

a photographer.

The best kind of client is…

a client that inspires me.

A go-to color is…

night blue.

My top three influences are…

people, traveling, and art.

It is Sunday morning, I’ll probably…

sleep in, have an elaborate brunch, walk my dogs, sport, and chill out in my living room.

My dream project is…

my holiday house in Portugal.

Currently, I’m most excited about…

life.

I’d be lost without…

my dogs, Gaston and Loulou.

A contemporary building I admire is…

The Pantheon in Rome.

The city or the country?

Both.

I want to be remembered as…

Vincent Van Duysen.

My favorite SUITE NY product is…

Too many to mention.
