William Storms is a mathematically driven craftsman “fortunate enough” to have discovered the loom- whose work is an ongoing effort to produce three-dimensional work in a traditionally two-dimensional world. Straddling the worlds of art and industry, Storms began his weaving career with a bespoke textile studio in Brooklyn, NY in 2011- where he was quickly introduced to the world of custom handweaving for the interior design trade. This exposure to crafted, custom luxury became the foundation of his practice; working next as a Designer for several prominent Jacquard Mills and simultaneously establishing his signature as an Artist. The continual focus on blending craft with custom manufacturing is a staple in Storms’ body of work, as both an Artist and a Designer.

| Woven by Storms on a wooden hand loom, the floor pillows he has created for SUITE NY feature a gorgeous blend of tone-on-one recycled cottons with a weft of Danish paper cord. High density foam inserts provide a comfortable and supported sit with 100% recovery, resulting in the pillows functioning more like an ottoman than floor cushion. The underside is made from brushed Italian wool while the handwoven face showcases interwoven rope motifs. Available in Cloud, Ember, or Indigo, each pillow is one of a kind. Custom pieces available. |

| Like the artist himself, his throw pillows are Fraternal twins; they come as a pair, yet each pillow has slightly unique characteristics. Woven on a 1971 German “Dobby” Loom, the yarn used for the pillows is made on a 1972 “Calvani” yarn twister from Milan, Italy. The zippered covers each feature a luxurious down feather insert. The throw collection is made from 75% recycled cotton or higher and like all of William Storms’ work, is handwoven and handsewn in Brooklyn. |

| Storms calls his Lumbar Pillows “fun and sophisticated.” For this collection, the handmade yarns are crafted with a blend consisting of linen, cashmere, lambswool and copper metallics. Each Lumbar pillow has a unique woven front that imbues a handmade craft into the contemporary living space. The Lumbars feature a down feather insert and Italian brushed wool back. Current available patterns include “Patina” and “Wool Stripe.” |

| A unique artisanal piece, “Soft Sculpture,” was created exclusively by Storms for SUITE NY. Consisting of luxurious handspun yarns of linen and wool and pliable fibers of copper, aluminum and paper, this incredible design is a luxurious three-dimensional tapestry handcrafted by the artist in his Brooklyn studio.
