SPOTLIGHT ON DAN POLLOCK

June 23, 2020

Born and raised in Southern California, Dan Pollock has spent the past three decades creating bold, handmade wooden designs from his fifteen-acre ranch, located in the High Desert at the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest. As a woodsman-turned-artist, Pollock’s work is inspired by a deep love and appreciation for the forest, and the tranquility of woodland environments.
POLLOCK TABLE IN EBONY COTTONWOOD
All of Pollock’s work involves using reclaimed or recycled wood, as to not harm any healthy, living trees, and his varieties of choice include White Fir, Giant Juniper, Cottonwood, and a range of Pines. This also means that each piece is one-of-a-kind. His work straddles the line between sculpture and function, often landing somewhere in the middle, and this week, we are thrilled to introduce you to the newest editions of Dan Pollock’s signature tables and bowls. All of these designs are currently available in stock, so contact showroomsales@suiteny.com for more information.
POLLOCK BOWL IN EBONY COTTONWOOD
Much like the tables, Dan Pollock’s bowls are each one-of-a-kind, allowing for endless possibilities and originality from one piece to the next. Because no two pieces are exactly alike, the bowls in your home will inherit a sense of personalization through the knowledge that yours is simply unlike any other. The bowls offer an exceptional balance between rustic and modern, which allow them to be placed throughout the home in rooms of varying styles without ever appearing out of place.

Dan Pollock’s tables are incredibly versatile. Each unique piece carries its own individual identity, and the wide range of sizes and shapes allow this incredible design to meet almost any need, from coffee table to bedside table and everything in between. Made from recycled wooden tree stumps, each table is hand-carved, and as he sands and smooths the wood, Pollock seeks to reveal each piece’s own gentle, aged lines.

Available in an impressive variety of woods, the Pollock Bowls can be used as a striking centerpiece, but are equally pleasing when placed on a sideboard, credenza, bookshelf, or side table, adding unmatched style and sophistication to any setting. All bowls are handmade in the United States with the utmost care, precision, and masterful craftsmanship.
POLLOCK TABLE IN SEQUOIA WOOD
In describing his creative process, the designer explains: “My sculptures are sometimes for the sake of art and sometimes function, often both. In any case, each sculpture has its own charm and appeal.” Recently, Pollock’s tables have been newly released in a gorgeous range of woods, including cedar, ebony ash, white ash, ficus, sycamore, and sequoia, in addition to his standard wood choices. The possibilities are truly endless, and whether your taste leans more traditional or contemporary, there is sure to be a Dan Pollock table to enrich and elevate your space
