Wood is known for it’s sturdiness and naturally beautiful grain, making it an ideal building material. This week we explore five pieces that solely utilize wood to accomplish phenomenal design.
MADONNA II
David Ericsson, 2015
he Madonna chair was designed to be visually appealing from every angle. By compression moulding the beech veneer, the seat and the backrest are bent to tightly fit the turned frame, giving the chair a gentle, living appeal. The Madonna II introduces armrests to this ingenious design, adding a new element of comfort and functionality.
C3000 CREDENZA
Mel Smilow, 1950
Made of solid walnut with matching doors and beautifully finished front and back, the C3000 Credenza was originally designed by Mel Smilow in 1950 and reissued by Smilow Design with the finest craftsmanship and exceptional detail. The outer case is available with a natural, lacquered or ebonized (shown here) finish.
MANTIS

IN HEAVEN

CENA

The Cena collection consists of eco-friendly, solid wood tables with a bevelled tabletop. The Cena is expertly crafted, meticulously smoothed and finished with the finest natural oils. This collection has expanded over time to include a square, rectangular and oval top (shown). It’s available in a variety of sizes and heights, including a bar height version, Cena Bar.
