Suggestions include:

-Make workstations adjustable.

-Avoid static loads or fixed work postures.

-Set the work surface above elbow height for tasks involving fine visual details and below elbow height for tasks requiringheavy physical effort.

-Allow workers, at their discretion, to alternate between sitting and standing.

X TABLE

In Europe, many countries are actually bound to follow the EN 527-1: 2011 Standards that modify the design standards of office desks. These standards include revised dimensions and requirements for more legroom and greater ranges of adjustability.

In hopes that America will follow Europe’s example of implementing such standards, SUITE NY has proudly acquired the X Table.

Direct and efficient, the X-Table is a manually height adjustable desk that uses kinetic power, instead of electricity, for height adjustments. The simple manual crank saves energy, keeps users active and allows for a streamlined design.

X TABLE

Developed by Danish interdisciplinary studio KiBiSi for furniture brand Holmris, the technical features of the design are all integrated within its table top. The folding X component, which aids in raising and lowering the desk’s height, is based off of the mechanical principals typically used in carjacks and ironing boards.

X Table is accompanied by a storage unit on wheels which rolls back and forth with the X base as you adjust the height, allowing you to easily stash items not in use an arm’s length away.

At just $1,500, the X Table is one of the most cost efficient height adjustable desks on the market.

KEVI AIR

Another new addition to SUITE NY’s Workspace collection is the iconic Kevi C hair. Kevi is the classic office chair, representing architect Jorgen Rasmussen’s belief that “The better you sit, the more you getdone.” Designed over 50 years ago, long before the term ‘ergonomic’ was ever used, the Kevi is as often found in homes as it is in schools or workplaces, wherever one chair must satisfy many sitters.
