At SUITE NY, we are always seeking to introduce our clients to brands that embody a perfect blend of craftsmanship, design, and innovation. This week, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Archivism, a new American-based company dedicated to producing solid wood pieces with an emphasis on local sourcing and thoughtful design. Founded by Christopher Hardy and Ben Gaffney, Archivism is a new concept in living, a presentation of objects for every era that exist on the spectrum between Brutalism and Romanticism.
EDDA
Norm Architects
The design intent of the Edda Credenza demonstrates a study of proportion and balance. Exhibiting a refined minimalism, it is restrained in approach. The details are withdrawn in order to emphasize the presence of the primary structural elements. Exaggerated overhangs, repeating uprights and retreating doors create a balance in the robust application material. Available in multiple sizes in solid walnut, white oak, or ash, sourced from West Virginia.
ELMYR
Christopher Hardy
The Elmyr Dining Table is inspired by the brutalist approach to modular construction elements. The table features a compelling and dynamic composition that defines it’s character. The large dowel detailing paired with the asymmetrical staggering of the base components reveals the relationship between parts. Strong and proud, the table exists as an anchor to one’s living experience. Available in two sizes. Made of solid walnut, white oak, or ash, sourced from West Virginia.
PRYN
Christopher Hardy
Pryn is a wonderfully refreshing collection of occasional and side tables, whose spacious tabletop and broad legs flawlessly showcase the attributes of solid wood. Character emerges in the dichotomy of form and feature as individual elements unify through the intentional implication of continuous curvature. The meeting of components introduces a gradual rise in surface, reaching the edge as it arcs around a planted leg. Made in Seattle from locally-sourced walnut or white oak. Available in three sizes.
