The last few years have been “metallics mania,” with brass standing strong at the head of the pack. Perhaps weary of all-things-brass, designers are beginning to turn to a new player – warm and unexpected copper. Just in the past year we’ve seen British design star Tom Dixon turn his focus almost entirely to copper with new products like the Brew Tea Set. Swedish metal foundry Skultuna is releasing product after product in this new trending metal including their bestselling Flower Pots by Monica Forster. And When Objects Work has just released John Pawson’s now iconic JP Bowl in what-else, but copper. So while copper might be facing a cooldown in the global commodities market, in the interior design industry things are just heating up!
