Hans J. Wegner |
The “Round One” as Wegner referred to it with his usual provincial modesty, is one of the most famous Danish pieces of furniture. PP501 sums up the very essence of traditional Danish woodworking and design philosophy. It is considered the magnum opus of Hans J. Wegner. The armrest for the PP501 chair consists of three pieces, each carved out of solid wood from 200 year-old shelter trees. The raw parts are conditioned between one to two years depending on the wood type. This delicate process relies on the nature of the tree and on generations of experienced craftsmanship and cannot be hurried. |

Made with authentic craftsmanship from rich, natural materials, the Brutus is intended to look more cut than constructed, as if it has been weathered naturally over time and then manipulated into a single sculptural element. The elliptical legs of Brutus appear broad from one perspective, remarkably thin from another – similar to a shark’s fin. Available with or without arms, both versions of Brutus possess certain aspects of the muscular vernacular of their Brutalist roots with an added touch of smoothness and lightness. Seat available in Vienna caning or upholstered in a variety of leather options. |

The Linea RMT6 chair’s most recognizable element is the distinctive, horseshoe-shaped back and armrest. The frame is made using mortise joints secured with wooden nails, which function both as structural support and aesthetic elements, while the wide, curved, and upholstered seat ensures the ultimate in seating comfort. The entire Linea series is characterized by soft curves and traditional joinery, which speaks to Nikari’s respect for traditional Finnish workmanship. Made of Northern European ash with an oiled or stained finish and upholstered seat. |
