Is there anything more comforting than sitting around a fireplace in the winter? Gathering around the hearth is a great way to warm our hands, and our spirits, and cozying up next to the fireplace is the perfect wintertime activity—whether sipping hot cocoa or reading your favorite book, the lure of a crackling fireplace brings people together. This week, we’re highlighting five designs to help you ensure that the hearth is truly the heart of your home.
Hans J. Wegner
Cozy and contemporary, lounging alongside the fireplace has never felt better than within the Papa Bear’s supremely comfortable embrace. Just one look at the Papa Bear, and it’s easy to envision yourself getting lost in a novel or warming up with a cup of tea. Hand-crafted to the highest standards, the solid wood frame is jointed and shaped to form a base for the upholstery work.
Dan Pollock
Dan Pollock’s tables are incredibly versatile. Each unique piece carries its own individual identity, and the wide range of sizes and shapes allow the design to work beautifully in any space. A perfect resting spot for your mug of hot cider in the cold winter months, each table is made from recycled wooden tree stumps. As he carves and sands the wood, Pollock seeks to reveal each piece’s gentle, aged lines.
Woodnotes Design Team
Grid is a chic and inviting hand-woven rug, incorporating delightful fall patterns and textures which look right at home in front of a fireplace. Each corner of the rug is decorated with a removable braided wool fringe. Like most of Woodnotes’ collection, it blends seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary environments. Grid is made of 90% wool & 10% cotton and is available in four different sizes.
De Padova
The latest version of De Padova’s classic Square sofa, Square XL has been modified with new dimensions. Featuring geometric elements and clean, squared lines, Square XL is beautifully contemporary while retaining a subtle mid-century influence. Refined and sophisticated with plush cushions and distinctive seams, lounging by the fire has never felt better. Upholstered in fabric or leather, with legs available in metal or wood.
Valerie Chomarat
When Objects Work is known for taking simple household objects and transforming them into stunning items for the home, and Valerie Chomarat’s Candle Holder finds itself accomplishing just that. Whether placed atop a dining table, credenza, or mantle, Candle Holder adds depth, vibrancy, and elegance to your space. Base available in black marble, Emperador marble, black stone, or walnut. Metal holder available in bronze or brass.
