Each year in Copenhagen, Denmark, design lovers and experts from around the globe convene in one of the architecture and design world’s most beloved cities to celebrate 3 Days of Design. This year, the SUITE NY team had the pleasure of attending the 10th Anniversary of what has become the ultimate celebration of Scandinavian design. Returning inspired and with heightened anticipation of what is yet to come, this week, we’re thrilled to highlight five of our favorite designs featured in this year’s 3DoD.
TUBE CHAIR
Dan Svarth
The seat on Dan Svarth’s Tube Chair almost seems to be floating in the air. Upholstered in parchment, black Elegance leather, or natural vegetal leather, the seat is elevated slightly above the frame; its rounded corners form a unique shape that is not quite a triangle, not quite a square, but something in between. Like many of our favorite Danish designs, Tube’s construction requires significant attention to detail, as 17 separate components come together in a fluid, harmonious form.
FLAG HALYARD
(JUBILEE EDITION)
Hans J. Wegner
PP Møbler has launched a limited Jubilee Edition of the Flag Halyard Chair in celebration of their 70th anniversary, featuring a vibrant yellow base and ash wood feet, unique from any previous iteration of this already-iconic design. The Flag Halyard Chair constitutes ultimate relaxation, without compromising the use of quality materials and innovative design. 240 meters of specially-developed flag line form the seat and back, while an optional longhaired sheepskin cover luxuriously adorns the chair, enhancing the design’s overall appearance. Limited numbered Jubilee Edition release of 70 chairs.
INLAND
Anderssen & Voll
Anderssen & Voll’s Inland is a contemporary sofa that provides the utmost comfort within a clearly defined architectural framework. With a low, deep seat and light metal base, the design feels almost as if it were floating. Available as a two- or three-seater sofa, and now, as unveiled at 3 Days of Design, as a lounge chair. Captivating and comfortable, Inland is available in a number of upholstery options.
CURTAIN CONSOLE
Laufer and Keichel
The Curtain family is a collection of striking designs that amplify the durability, strength, and versatility of solid wood. The Curtain Collection has been expanded with the recent launch of the Curtain Console, as well as a couch table. Precisely crafted from high-quality solid wood, the table is defined by its curtain-like legs, which appear to flow in a wave-like pattern, offering a fluid expression not often explored in solid wooden furniture. Available in Ash white oiled, oak, knotty oak, oak color stain, American cherry, American walnut, or knotty American walnut.

MR01 INITIAL OUTDOOR LOUNGE
Mathias Rasmussen
With its low-slung wooden frame and nautically evocative rope seat and backrest, Mathias Steen Rasmussen’s breakthrough MR01 Initial Lounge Chair has begged to be taken outside since its creation. Now, two years after the design made its indoor debut in oak and walnut, Rasmussen and GUBI have responded to demand and developed a new edition, specially constructed for outdoor living. The outdoor version of MR01 is crafted from FSC®-certified Iroko wood and custom-made high-performance waterproof and UV-resistant rope, offering the same look and tactility of the indoor version.
