SPOTLIGHT ON POUL KJÆRHOLM

Poul Kjærholm was a Danish designer. Born in Østervrå, Denmark, Kjærholm began as a cabinetmaker's apprentice with Gronbech in 1948, going on to the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1952. Over the course of the next three decades, Kjaerholm would become one of the most renowned designers in Danish history, creating countless iconic pieces and inspiring future generations of designers across the world. At SUITE NY, we’re proud to carry a wide range of Kjærholm’s most distinguished works, and this week we’re highlighting five designs that showcase the exceptional talent and influence of one of Denmark’s most esteemed designers and architects.

Just last week, we received news that cabinetmaker and friend, Ejnar Pedersen—one of the founders of the pioneering Danish manufacturer, PP Møbler—had passed away shortly after celebrating his 97th birthday. This week, we are dedicating our newsletter to celebrating the incredible life and work of Mr. Pedersen, whose talent, passion, and dedication have forever changed the world of Danish design.
