Who We Are
Maria Isabel Sepulveda Co-Founder and Chief of Operations
Before co-launching SUITE New York, Maria's experience was in the modern and contemporary furniture and design field in which she spent several years. Previously, she was an executive in fashion mechandising for over a decade.
Maria is committed to SUITE New York providing the best customer service possible. As a result of their strong relationships with their manufacturers, Kris and Maria have created a company that has quickly established a reputation for flawless service of which Maria intends the client to be immediately aware.
"We view our showroom as a second home. We want you to consider it a place to languish and be comfortable in, as if visiting a dear friend. Shopping for furniture should be a wonderful experience, not stressful or intimidating. After all, you are furnishing the most important place in the world: yours."
Kris Fuchs Principal and Public Relations and Marketing Director
Before co-launching SUITE New York, Kris's experience was in the modern and contemporary furniture and design field in which she spent several years. Previously she had her own public relations and marketing company, working with small independent clients, while raising her children. She also helped launch some of New York City's top restaurants and venues: Chinatown Brasserie, Lure Fishbar, Lever House, Joe's Pub and the former Time Cafe.
Kris is focused on SUITE New York's close relationship with its vendors:
"The relationship with our manufacturers is of utmost importance. We limit how many we carry and we consider them part of the family. Each one is hand-chosen by Maria and me. I love our trips to Italy and Denmark where we meet with our vendors, seeing what's new from young designers and offering feedback on prototypes. Working with domestic artisans and promoting American design is another part of the SUITE New York concept.
"I want to communicate who SUITE New York is: people who appreciate great design and beauty and want it to be a part of everyone's everyday lives. At SUITE, we want the experience to be not just about shopping, but also about being educated about design, from the materials, to the designers, to the historical importance of the pieces."
Chris Kraig Creative Director
Chris Kraig is the founder of Chris Kraig Studio, a New York City-based interior design firm. Previously he was the creative director of the showroom TROY. Among the many projects of Chris Kraig Studio was the creation and development of the Modern Floor of ABC Carpet & Home's flagship New York City store in 2003.
Chris's design work has been featured in such publications as New York magazine, House & Garden, ID, Harper's Bazaar, City and many others. He has also appeared on national and local television, including ULTRAS SPACE, and makeover segments on CBS's Living It Up with Ali and Jack, the Fox News Channel, and WABC's Eyewitness News.
Chris has long wanted to work on a showroom uptown:
"The whole idea of SUITE New York is to bring downtown uptown. The look of the showroom is very loft-like. What SUITE New York achieves is bringing the best modern and contemporary design, as far as quality and aesthetics, to uptown.
"It's accessible to designers and to shoppers. We are reaching the design community right where the trade operates. We're close to the D and D building and other design centers. It's very convenient for them."
